In order to work efficiently and deliver a usable application,
we work through well-organized stages. At each stage the application
takes shape according to customer's needs and requirements.
|
| |
In the end, we deliver a new UI that conforms to both the requirements
of the customer, technological limitations and specifications, and our
standards for usability.
At SCP, we know that each customer's needs differ. We customize our services
to meet these varying needs. From one small detail to complete turnkey solutions,
SCP works with the customer to deliver just the right solution for the particular
application.

Analysis and Concept Design
A conceptual design demonstrates the structure of the application's UI,
the user's workflows, and the main interaction mechanisms. As part of the conceptual
design process, we study the application (if it already exists) or its specifications
and requirements.
We become familiar with the (future) users and we research and study
the relevant subject matter. We rely on User-Centered Design (UCD) methodology in order
to combine the application's requirements with our knowledge about the users, in order
to bring everything together in a usable, friendly application.
|
|
| |
It is during this stage that we create and develop a working prototype, which
incorporates and demonstrates our suggested design. In time, this conceptual
design will become the basis for a future detailed design for the entire application.
|
|
Detailed Design
In this stage we specify the design and layout of each and every
screen. The design is based on the overall concept design of
the application. Screen design includes the following:
 |
Specifications of a look and
feel according to guidelines that make the application
look and function in a consistent way. |
 |
Consideration of the abilities
and limitations of the development resulting from the
platform or technology used. |
 |
Application of the latest standards
and trends in the field of Human-Computer Interaction
(HCI). |

A Design Prototype
We deliver both concept and detailed designs as working prototypes. Because of their
flexibility, these prototypes become essential components of the design process as
they allow for the quick testing of a range of different ideas. The prototypes enable
making design changes without incurring the high cost of writing code.
Usability Testing
Usability testing is best performed during the early stages of design using SCP's detailed
prototypes. Decisions about improvements or and changes to the design can be easily
integrated early in the development cycle. SCP offers a comprehensive range of usability
testing services.
Expert Reviews
These reviews concentrate on identifying usability problems based on an
understanding of usability design principles.
Questionnaires
Questionnaires provide a powerful mechanism for evaluating an existing
application or website.
Focus Groups
Focus groups are an ideal forum for testing market acceptance with groups of users.
Task-based Testing
Task-based testing provides the most detailed feedback on application usability.
Users work through a predefined set of tasks in SCP's usability laboratory or at
the workplace. A usability expert observes and records the users' actions in
order to identify any difficulties that they experience.

Graphic Design
Graphic design brings the UI to life by providing the user with a friendly,
intuitive working environment. In other words, graphics aren't just a "pretty picture",
but an essential component of the UI.
At SCP we not only design the overall visual look of the application
(or the metaphor), but also provide appropriate

UI Style Guides
To give an application (or set of applications) a standard look and feel we work
according to accepted, tested design guidelines.
In this way, without having to design each and every screen, we give developers
a helpful tool with which to make the application (or group of applications)
conform to standard functionality and achieve a unified, consistent look.
Workshops and Conferences
We conduct workshops and seminars that present the latest trends in the
field of human factors engineering, information architecture, UI design, and Web design.
GUI Development
Moving from prototype to working system can be a painstaking, time-consuming process.
Our technology group has perfected the process so we can deliver a GUI framework that
is ready to be embedded with logic.
When the GUI design team leads the design of the application, it can be a natural extension
of our services to take the design process to the next stage: implementation.
Beyond the very real time - and money - saving to our customers, the benefits are obvious.
|
| |
 |
Our teams have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the application. |
 |
There is no need for another "handshake" and knowledge transfer to an independent implementation group. |
 |
We can do job more efficiently and integrate the planned functionality better. |
|
| |
Our software development team keeps on top of changes and trends in the IT realm and has
years of experience in using the latest technologies (.net, j2ee, and so on).
Because of our full service capabilities, we can deliver the exact solution the
customer needs.
|
| |
 |
GUI only - When the UI is separates from the business logic layer,
we can very efficiently develop and deliver just the GUI (and not necessarily
the whole application).
|
 |
Turnkey - Our technology group
is also capable of fully developing the system as turnkey
solution, SCP is a ONE-STOP SHOP.
